Hey @paulf1971 you need to ensure that your firewall and anti-virus are not blocking Origin and that you also have the ports for Origin open.

 

The ports to open are:

  • TCP: 80; 443; 9960-9969; 1024-1124; 3216; 18000; 18120; 18060; 27900; 28910; 29900
  • UDP: 1024-1124; 18000; 29900

You can also try turning off the routers firewall to see if it helps.

I have gone through the checklist, and nothing has worked

 

My last purchase was in June, and everything worked correctly. I have not changed firewall or anti-virus settings in that time. Yet now Origin refuses to go online.

I'm actually in a worse position than before I contacted tech support, re-installing Origin has made it so that I can't even play the games I've already downloaded.

That's an odd one @JGeldmacher. It may be worth restoring your Windows to an earlier date before the issue occurred to see if it makes any difference.

I did the clean boot with no luck.

 

Why would I restore an earlier version of windows to resolve an issue with the origin application?

 

If there's a conflict with current windows updates, Origin should be fixed. If not, then it's a waste of my time.

Hey @JGeldmacher I understand your frustration. I tested Origin just there and it's working fine for me. That it is not working for you would point to it being a system issue. If something on your system is causing Origin to have issues then we are going to have to figure out just what that is. Resetting your PC to an earlier date is simply to see doing so allows Origin to work. 


I'm not seeing any other reports of the issue you are seeing that hasn't been solved with the troubleshooting provided. Would it be possible to try Origin on a different system?
