If you reply to this thread with a dxdiag I will take a closer look at your system to determine why you are experiencing lag.

In the meantime you can try the following:

  • Disable Origin in-game
  • Right-click Need for Speed in Origin, then select Repair Game
  • Update your gpu drivers with a clean installation
  • Check out our crashing and freezing article
  • If you play on a laptop, setup a gaming profile
  • Unplug all non-mandatory USB and other devices from your system
  • Try a clean boot to exclude background programs from causing issues
  • Lastly, we've received reports from users stating that the Asus GameFirst app caused fps issues for them. You could try momentarily turning this or similar apps off

Don't worry. It's the cause of ur GPU. If u have a good GPU check the minimum power output for ur GPU and get a good power socket. Try reducing game graphics such as The resolution which helps by a lot 1280*720 is a well suggested one.

While launching the game “NFS Rivals″, the gamers may face problems regarding running or starting the game because of a system or game specific errors. To solve NFS Rivals Errors , I would recommend the solutions given in this article.

Your system should meet the minimum requirements of the game in order to run it:

Minimum system requirements:

Operating System: Windows XP (some managed), Windows Vista SP2 32-Bit (with KB971512 System Update)

Processor: AMD Athlon X2 2.8 GHZ or Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHZ

RAM: 4 GB

Hard disk space: 30 GB Free space

Graphic card: (AMD) 512 MB AMD Radeon 3870 or higher; NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT or higher

DirectX: DirectX version 10.1

Sound: DirectX compatible sound card

Fixes for NFS Rivals Errors and Problems

Read through the article to find the detailed solution of your specific error:

NFS Rivals Error : Due to Microsoft Visual C++ dlls

If you are getting the errors due to missing dlls like:

The Program can’t start because msvcr100.dll or msvcr110.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

OR

The Program can’t start because msvcp110.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

Then, you need to download and install Microsoft Visual redistributable C++ 2005, 2008 or 2010. Make sure you download the correct version i.e. 32 bits and 64 bit operating systems.

Alternatively, you may go to the location:

“C:\Program files (x86)\Origin Games\Need for Speed (TM) Rivals\
_Installer\vc\vc2012Update1\redist”.

Now, install all the softwares in there (x86 and x64).

NFS Rivals Error : xinput1_3.dll missing

If you are getting the error “The program can’t start because xinput1_3.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.” You may try the given solution to avoid this error:

  • Download the “xinput1_3.dll” file directly from the internet by searching it on google.
  • Once downloaded, extract the zip file and copy the contents of the file.
  • Go to the game directory where you have installed “NFS Rivals”. Look for the icon “NFS14.exe” or similar and paste the copied content along with it.
  • Also paste the “.dll” file in “C:\Windows\System32″ and “C:\Windows\SysWOW64″
  • Now, try running the game. This time, it won’t show any error.

NFS Rivals Error : Runtime

If you are getting the runtime errors, you need to download and install Microsoft Visual redistributable C++ 2005, 2008 or 2010. Make sure you download the correct version i.e. 32 bits and 64 bit operating systems.

NFS Rivals Error : 0xc000007b

If you are getting the error “Application failed to initialize properly (0xc000007b). Click OK to terminate”, you need to download and install Microsoft Visual redistributable C++ 2005, 2008 or 2010. If already installed, uninstall the existing one and download and install the fresh one.

NFS Rivals Error : Failed to create D3D device

If you are getting this error, you need to install the latest DirectX (required by the graphic card in your system). You can download it from the internet or you may find it in the installation DVD of the game. Generally, basic softwares comes up along with the game setup in the DVDs.

NFS Rivals Error : DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG

If you are getting the error: DirectX function “GetDeviceRemovedReason” failed with “DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG” or “DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED”

Then the chances that this error pops up is when the display drivers of the system crashes. To avoid this, make sure you have your graphic card fully updated with the latest driver. Try not to overclock your GPU (reset it to the factory settings) and if possible, play the game at moderate settings. Also, make sure that your computer is connected to the required power supply or if using laptop, plug-in the adapter first and play the game at “high performance” mode of the laptop. Also, update to the latest DirectX supported by your graphic card.

NFS Rivals Error : DirectX error

If you are getting the error messages something like this:

DirectX function “CreatePixelShader for (null)” failed with E_INVALIDARG (“An invalid parameter was passed to the returning function.”). GPU: “Intel (R) HD Graphics 3000”, Driver: Unknown.

OR

DirectX function “CreatePixelShader for (null)” failed with E_INVALIDARG (“An invalid parameter was passed to the returning function.”). GPU: “ATI Radeon HD XXX series”, Driver: XXX

Then, update the graphic card of your system and install the latest DirectX supported by your graphic card. Make sure you install DirectX 10.1 or above as it the minimum requirement of the game. Or increase the Virtual RAM (VRAM) as it has solved the DirectX issues in many games. If that doesn’t work, try the fix given in the link:

Fix for DirectX error

NFS Rivals Error : Origin not installed

If you are getting this even if the origin is installed on your system, you may have to uninstall the origin completely and install it manually. But before that, you may give a shot by running origin as administrator and changing the compatibility mode.

NFS Rivals: Save Game and Configuration Files location

You can find the save game files and configuration setting files in the location given below:

“C:\Users\Username\Documents\Ghost Games\Need for Speed (TM) Rivals\settings”

If you are unable to launch or play the game and are getting: NFS Rivals has stopped working error. Or the game is randomly crashing, freezing, visit:

NFS Rivals stopped working, crashing, freezing, black screen

Hope the article helps in solving NFS Rivals Errors and problems
