Need For Speed Rivals, hangs. Controls have no response.

Hi, I bought Need For Speed Rivals. Very soon in the game everything just hangs. The game seems to be running normally but I have no controls. The controls have no response. Please help?

It seems like with a bit of luck if the game does not hang before I can get to the PC SETTINGS and set my resolution from 1920 x 1080 to 1280 x 720 it works fine. (Hope I got those numbers right.)
