Why send speed cards to garage?

★★★★★ Newbie

There is probably already another topic similar to this, but I couldn't find it between all the topics requesting Online Free Roam and Free Roam cops, which are also something that should be implemented in the game.

So my issue. When I saw the "Send to Garage" option, I thought "Cool, I can stock up on cards and use them on the cars as I unlock them." I get to the garage and I can't transfer them to other cars. "Maybe they are make/model specific, so if I have an Off Road Beetle and a Dragster Beetle (yes I do have them), I can transfer between the two to make the perfect Speed card combo....nope. I understand the logic behind not being able to transfer cards between different vehicles but it should be possible to swap cards between same-make cars, or same-model cars at least. I feel like it would be nearly impossible to max out a car without essentially beating the story mode a couple of times while you try your luck at tune-up shops. Please make the Speed Cards transferrable between vehicles.

Bring Free-Roam Cops Back!!! That was my favorite part, and the fact that Hot Pursuit didn't have them is the reason I didn't play that game much!!! I was so hyped for this game, please don't disappoint.

It's not impossible, it takes grinding. And if you want 3 perk cards you'll be sure to spend some time and try your luck in the tuner.

beat the story mode a couple times? Lol I can go from lvl 100 to 399 in about 30-40 min. you just gotta know how to game the system. Part tokens are your friend. And no, I don't buy shipments lol.

You're right, sending cards to garage is useless, also is selling them for $ (prices are too low regarding what you can earn from a race).

If you don't want to equip them when you earn them, you probably won't ever do.

Then, the only valuable option is convert them to tokens that can be used with any of your cars.

1. Grind Grind Grind Grind Grind...until you have about 3000 part tokens.
2. Go buy the 'catch up pack'...no sense getting less than the lvl 16 cards.
3. Go to that stupid slot machine...run your car up to lvl 18/399.

4. Now keep spinning the slot machine until you match all the cards to whichever speed group you like...changes for each style of racing you're doing.
5. Now keep spinning the slot machine until you get all the perks on all the same manufacturer that you're looking for...personally I choose the Accel, Speed, Nitros perks.

6. If you haven't gone insane by now, go race your badacre car...trust me...my Boss 302 Mustang set up like I've just lined out is truly an "In this game" badacre.

I agree, the parts should be usable on other cars if you send them to the garage. Otherwise the function is pointless.

I also thought "Well, surely I must be able to transfer my drag speed cards won to another drag car back in my garage..." Nope. This game makes no sense. I like the garage system in Need for Speed (2015) the best so far (though I've yet to play "NFS Heat" (because of the disappointment from "Payback") that made sense. Unlocking different levels made parts available for any car and any car could be used in any event (I'd like that back as well), you had the OPTION to make your car "just for drifting" or whatever. I'd like to race my runner or drag my runner for that matter, without having to buy the same car 5 times AND UNLOCK THE SAME DAM CARDS 5 times! Come on EA! Oh and as always EFF these microtransactions! Dam, make the games complete! I hate that and refuse to buy. Whoops this turned into a rant about games in general, my bad.

@goathedxxx In regards to NFS Heat... I absolutely LOVE that game- actually, it is 100% BETTER! The best part is there are NO CARDS!! When you race @ night, you will have cops chasing you, and that is a BLAST (especially when you hit level 40 & have the McLaren '15... but that is after dishing out $2 million+... That is THE most expensive car in the entire game. That is one BEAUTIFUL CAR! But when you hit lvl 50 spend another $1 million+ on the Konigsegg Revera, THE FASTEST car in the game- I guarantee you, it will be even better!). Depending on how many/how long the cops chase you, it will raise the REP amount you are rewarded- but only if you escaped & got into a safe house. I found out the hard way, that it is best to go to the safe house after every race... if you don't & they bust you, you lose EVERYTHING you won since the last time you were in the safe house. Daytime racing is different- cops wont chase you during a race. I'm trying NFS Payback to add variety, but as many others have said, I agree that the cards are budshik (we all know I had to spelll it wrong, for obvious reasons). They can burn those cards for all I care! They know is NOT a casino game... then WHY do they want us to gamble away our hard earned money & points?? Trying to win races against npc's is enough challenge for us as it is. So EA, if you are reading this thread, please understand that you would see MORE gamers playing if you DITCH THE CARDS!
In NFS Heat, when I got the McLaren '15, I drove it a bit to get used to the handling... I then did some day & night races, to be sure I could handle the car at higher speeds. Then, I went out during the day & rammed atleast 6 different patrol cars. The result, they ate the dust left by the car, because my car was long gone! There was one time, when a cop nearly took my car out. I tried to swerve, but forgot there was deep water there. I thought for SURE I was going to be busted, but get this... when my car respawned, the cop said I disappeared! That mistake actually saved me! But there is a drawback to getting into chase's with cops during the day... at most, I reached heat 2, but when they lost sight of my car, within a very short time, the heat dropped to zero, then chase was called off. But who wants to be too close to their cars? Two patrol cars usually come after you, and they could easily box you in or bash your car from both sides, ruining your chances for a clean getaway.
Anyway, try NFS Heat... you will LOVE it! If you play NFS Rivals, you can play either the racer or the cop.
