Need for Speed Most Wanted PC Fullscreen

★★★ Newbie

Hello.

I've recently got the game (Need for Speed Most Wanted) but I've kept on having the same problem. Window Mode to Fullscreen mode. It simply can't get into fullscreen mode with all the steps I've done, as I described further down.

The game doesn't itself allow me to put it either into fullscreen or window mode.

So I've searched alot on the internet, and many players have had the same issue, but seemed to find their work around, thus it doesn't work for me.
So here is the steps I've done:

Step 1: Going to 'regedit' --> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> SYSTEM --> ControlSet001 --> Control --> GraphicsDrivers --> Configuration --> "Foldernames" and put the scaling to 3 in all of them. This did not work.

Step 2: Going to Nvidia Controlpanel --> Display --> Adjust desktop size and position --> In this tap, I tried to set it to fullscreen both on Display and GPU. Does not work. (My resolution is 1920x1080)

Step 3: I tried (Alt+Enter) Had no effect at all.

Step 4: I tried to run the game in Compatibillty Mode in Windows 7. I also did try tick off 'Disable display scaling on high DPI settings' No effect at all.

Step 5: Navigated to Documents --> Criterion Games --> Need for Speed Most Wanted --> Config --> In the config I did change the screenscale=3 since it was on 0. No effect at all, either.

Both the game, drivers and all other stuff are updated. None of these steps helped me on the fullscreen.

So I sit here and have no clue on how to advance further..

I hope I can get this fixed, but atleast I can play it. Tho it is still annyoin.

Ok, there is an Easier Way if you use the Origin Launcher!

1. Open up the launcher

2. Click on NFS:MW but do not launch the game

3. Click on Settings [The Gear Icon]

4. Go to "Game Properties"

5. Click on "Advance Launch Settings"

6. Copy and Paste into the bar " Fullscreenborderless=true "

This is a Quick, and Easy Situation! Its also Cheap! [Do Not Tab-Out or it will revert to Window

My game launches on full screen. But if I tab out for some reason, it stays in window. I close and restart the game.

Anybody looking to play online?

@M13_TheOnly and after going to windowed mode, you can't go back fullscreen with alt+enter?

Slight correction to a previous answer. And if you tab out of this one and lose full screen, hit alt enter and you're back in full screen

1. Open up the launcher

2. Click on NFS:MW but do not launch the game

3. Click on Settings [The Gear Icon]

4. Go to "Game Properties"

5. Click on "Advance Launch Settings"

6. Copy and Paste into the bar " -fullscreen "

Following is the quickest way:

- Goto the folder where the NFS MW is installed (mostly in C:\Program Files (x86)\EA\).

- Search for the file "nfsmwres" and double click on it.

- Here you can change the resolution to 1280*720.

- Launch the application.

- Issue must be resolved.
