NHL 18 Crashes After Update

Today (10/4/17) I downloaded the approximate 1100 MB update and now while playing the game the system makes a weird sounds and sends me to the home screen.

1. First close the game.
2. Go to NHL 18 and press the menu button
3. Go to Manage Game, Saved Data, Reserved Space
4. Press the Menu button, go to clear reserved space
5. Restart the game.

If the issue remains, try fully powering off the console and retry:

1. Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button  on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

   Important Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

3. Plug the console power cable back in.
4. Press the Xbox button  on your console to turn on the Xbox One.

Will doing this delete my hut account in any way? I pulled totw mcdavid and refuse to lose it haha but seriously I need my franchise mode

I have the same issue as above. I tried both of your solutions and neither have worked.

DO WE HAVE TO DO THIS TO GET THE GAME BACK?  THAT'S RIDICULOUS IF MY HUT TEAM IS GONE.
