NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered PC: game not accepting "up" arrow key to start

Hi

I just installed Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered on my gaming Laptop. After going through all initial options, I come to the stage where I have to choose car and then start racing.

To start the race, the screen shows the option of "up" arrow key but nothing happens after it. I am unable to start the race. Please help in this regard.

The game just doesn't seem to accept the up arrow key which is otherwise working fine on my laptop.

@maxDnD it's not up, it's shift.

Maybe you need to hold a function key while pressing the up key?

@hrjohn yes! my bad.. I tried the right shift key initially and it didn't work. But yes it was the left one! Thanks!

Hello.

Can not start the game from Origin. 

Have tried with the shift button but nothing happens.

What should I do?

@tlbm3 Start the game from origin? Do you have trouble entering an event or starting the game?

I have trouble to starting the game.

When I press the start button, the computer screen turns black as if it is starting to load the game.

But then I'll come back to the Origin state page. The game has worked a few times. Have also tried reinstalling the game but it did not help.

@tlbm3 Hi, have you had any hardware changes since the game last worked for you?

If you delete your local config file does that have any impact? You'll find it at C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\Criterion Games\Need for Speed(TM) Hot Pursuit Remastered, beside teh Save folder. You can leave the Save folder untouched.

No hardware changes.

I have now deleted the config file, but can not test if it works.

Because I can not log in to Origin, have been trying all day.

This is not ok. Does Origin have a problem with the login?

I just relogged as a test, and I'm not seeing any regional outage alerts.. What happens when you try to log in?
