Under the Hood: Turning up the Heat

Re: Under the Hood: Turning up the Heat

I'm not too excited for a new NFS game. There hasn't been a good NFS game in years.

And it doesn't help that EA themselves are expecting to sell 4 million copies of this NFS after the failure of NFS Payback.

My advice is to be cautiously optimistic.

Still nothing about NFS Edge for the west.

NFS Edge in Korea is permanently shutting down on May 30, 2019.

I agree tenfold.

Please please sort out your physics! I love PayBack, but couldn't get into and dropped playing the game after a few weeks due to your physics. Also some more support for the G920 would be nice, such as manual with clutch.

I really hope yall take the original like underground, most wanted (the 2005 one not that crappy 2012 one), And carbon. The cops in free roam who didnt give up were the best. And initiating them from anywhere was fun too. Loved the customized cars this time around and I hope you all can continue that. Cops in free roam has always been a hood thing and made the games always wanting to be played. Same thing with a offline aspect as well. Of you wanna do an online aspect too that would be fantastic. We all hope its like NFS World. That was fun then. One of the best multi player things NFS has done. The speedlists are getting very old and done to death. The games have held a very high love for me and after carbon has really fallen short to me. Undercover was ok. Pro Street was ok as it gave you a new look at some cool ideas. Shift and shift 2 was meh. Rivals was ok but the cops of the AI were too easy to lose and felt lacking. NFS 2015 was good in the aspecr of trying a new NFS World but there was no offline which sucked. Hot pursuit brought be some good times and it was good but it wasnt Underground or Most Wanted(2005) good. Payback was a refreshing game thanks to the different cars for different things which is a good thing. Just wish we had free roam cops and possibly a little bit more to the game cause it felt like it was missing something. What I am getting at is that if yall could create a game thats similiar to GTA5 of them Single Player and a Multiplayer world. Both different and such. That would be the best thing ever. And yall could add content to multiplayer to spice things up and keep things going.

All and all thank you NFS team for a wonderful 25 years of cars, racing, cops, and fun.

Your Fan of 25 special years,

I'll be honest, the NFS saga has been going on a very short story and a not that good gameplay style, what we need is a game that combines the old era (Underground 1-2, Most Wanted) with a good challenge like the bounty and races to be completed to challenge a boss and a kick-* soundtrack.

nao estamos mais nos anos 2000, a cultura de carros mudou camarada. Quero é tuning da nova cultura. Underground já é algo do passado

"Cars naturally top the list. You could say that the cars and customization of NFS are the beating heart of what we do. Without either of these, NFS fails to exist as we know it. "

Despite a lot of people moaning about Payback, I like the game. I take it for what it is - fun arcade that helps me relax after a hard day at work. Nevertheless, there is a few improvements I'd love to see in the next game.

1) More cars & mods. (I'm unsure how licensing works e.g. Toyota pulled out of being in your title etc.) Biggest let down of NFS is probably the car lists, it's getting better each time, but still not as good as competitors' titles such as The Crew & Forza Horizon. Cars that me, and I dare to say a lot of other people would appreciate in the next games are:

Mazda RX-7 FB & FC, RX-8

Nissan Skyline R33, Silvia S14, 370Z

Toyota Corolla (2019), Supra 2020, Supra MK3 & MK4, Chaser, Corolla AE86, GT86, MR-2

Honda Civic EG, Integra DC2

Lexus (for fellow VIP modified lovers) IS350/IS-F, LS400, SC300, RC-F, LFA, IS200

Subaru Impreza WRX STI 2006, Forester SF/SG

BMW E36, Z3M Coupe, M3 F80

Volkswagen Scirocco 2009+

and others I can't think of.

2) MAP - I think that NFS should compete as hard as they can with Forza / CREW in terms of the world map. The Crew has the best map in my opinion. Something huge with iconic skylines and scenery. I like the fact you can drive into snowy mountains in The Crew and drift there. Payback has a good foresty area for drifting, but it should be bigger/better.

3) Physics - Damage is fine as it is, but handling is not great. By no means I am saying I want sim-like handling, just something a bit more predictable, especially when it comes to drifting. When you're drifting, the handling doesn't make any sense because you slide one side, trying to change direction and it completely throws you as if you were on a bungee. Hard to control drifts.

Steering wheel support would be good too! The Crew 2 is an arcade as well, but you can tweaks a lot when you plug the steering wheel into it so you are able to make it decent, or at least way better than it is.

I can't think of anything more right now. It seems like I've listed a lot of wrongs with the current game, but I just want NFS to be better or at least as good as competing titles.. Right now it's not great, and the reason I still play NFS is the fun factor in the gameplay. Gameplay in general is good and does what it should, to an extent, but some things like I mentioned above aren't perfect and are quite frustrating.

People play for different reasons. I would hate having cops chase me everytime I drive past. It should be an option in the settings whether you want them to bother you or not. For example when I play Payback, I just go up the mountain and drift. I want a nice peaceful session.

I hope the soundtrack to be as good as MW 2012 or NFS2015, those were the best among modern NFSes
Payback OST was underwhelming IMO
