sims 4 cc not loading (mac)

hai,

(mac user + not too tech savvy) 

my game works perfectly fine on its own, it’s stored on an external harddrive and has been for a while - never had issues with this on its own.

however since the most recent update i’ve been experiencing some issues, my mods are not showing in game, they’re enabled in settings & stay ticked (i’ve often seen this to be the issue, however this isn’t the case for me.) i’ve taken out script mods, and done almost everything i’ve found in forums & videos - like the basics such as repairing the game etc etc. 

nothing seems to help , if anyone has any help or a solution let me know! 

my cc is very dear to me haha :’)
