Unable to save game

Hello,

I'm able to load my saved household SOMETIMES but I'm not able to save while in live mode. I've repaired and reinstalled my game but still unable to save or go to mange worlds as these options are greyed out.  I've updated my storage and speed. I've removed my mods and tried to load my saved games and it takes forever if it loads.  I put my mods back, I'm able to load my saved game but not able to save the progress OR go to manage worlds. The mange world and build mode icons while in live mode. I haven't been able to play SIMS in about a month. I've made all the updates to the game as well. Broken heart

@LaShunaW Do you get an error message when you can't save? Or a last exception file?

 

Also, have you checked through Broken/Updated Mods & CC ?

@LaShunaW Do you have mods or CC in your Mods folder? If so, do a "vanilla" test to see if a mod/CC is your problem: Move (not copy) the Mods folder to the desktop (or rename it), delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving.

Thank you for responding.  I've done that multiple times and that doesn't work. This is extremely frustrating.

@LaShunaW When I remove my molds/cc the game is stuck on the loading screen. When I put my mods/cc back the game loads sometimes. When it does load, I'm unable to save my progress, go to manage worlds or go to build mode when in live mode.

Yes I am able to start a new game and save it.  I just can't save the progress from my older save files.

Hi, 

 

I have the same problem too. I can't save my game or travel to other locations. The loading screen just stay there for hours, but nothing loaded or the save game can't be done. I can't close Sims 4 window at all unless I restart my PC. I tried to play the game without mods, it worked. May I know is my MCCC setting which made some sims' lifespan to be stopped age up, immortal or never be eliminated may cause this issue?

@kennysoo2008 More likely you have outdated relationship-related mods. Start at Broken/Updated Mods & CC , especially the Previously Updated list. I'm also happy to look at a list of your mods. Instructions on how to create that are at the end of How to Use Mods and CC . Please don't use a different method.
