So I've been playing the Sims 4 for years and I've never run into this kind of trouble. Ever since I made the switch to the EA app after previously using Origin my game will load in the dock and not open. I've surmised the issue has come through my mods folder. I've tried troubleshooting and getting rid of the mod folders that are causing the issue, but my cimputer is finicky. Sometimes I remove some folders and the game opens with no issues. Then I'll try and open the sims with the same folders and the game won't open. The only time the game opens with 100% success is when I take all of the mods out of the folder. I've already tried clearing the cache in the EA app and in the Sims 4. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game. And removing the sims 4 folder from my documents folder and allowing the game to naturally generate a new one. My mods have never been acting up like this and I really don't want to play the sims without mods, but I don't know if my game will open properly anymore. Is anyone else running into this problem and can help me?

Yes, my game was able to load into the doc with my saves without issue if there were no mods in the folder.

I've deleted my mods folder and my game loaded. But I decided to download new mods bc I don't like to play the game without them. I didn't download any script mods and only downloaded some clothing and hair. But for some reason my game still won't open.

@kailab84 Clothing and hair files can also be broken. Instructions for doing a 50-50 test to identify broken content are here: 50-50 A handful of known problem files are listed in Broken/Updated Mods & CC , including under previously broken. If every CC file seems broken, you might have an antivirus exception you need to add.

How would I download an antivirus exception? This may be unrelated but while I'm playing I often get last exception notifications from MCCC, but I don't know how to read the reports so I ignore them.
