Problem with the Realm of Magic Sages

★ Guide

This isn't a bug report, but a question for others if they've encountered this, and how to fix it in my game.

Somehow, after one of the patches, Neighborhood Stories got turned on (I always keep it off), and all three of the sages got married and placed into various households without my knowledge.  I didn't realize it until I sent a Sim to the Magic Realm to become a spellcaster, and there were no Sages there to request the occult from.  I've now turned NS off again, and ejected the Sages from the households, but the damage is done; the sages no longer have the specific token trait that indicates that they've never been played.

Strangely, no new sages have been generated to take their place.  I was hoping that one would, when I sent different Sims to the Magic Realm (I play rotationally; that's why I want NS turned off), but still no new Sages have spawned.

I do play with CC and mods, so it's possible that a mod is interfering with them respawning.  This isn't a bug report; this is a request to ask if anyone else has ever encountered this, and what, if anything, they did to fix it.  I'm pretty frustrated; I can use MCCC to add the spellcaster occult (or just the bloodline trait) to any Sim I want, but I'd like to actually do it through the game storyline if I can.  Besides which, the Magic Realm just seems so EMPTY without the Sages there.

@MiaSkywalker1 It happened to me once with Morgin (the untamed magic sage) and NS was the culprit, but in my case the next time I went to the Magic Realm a new sage was already present, so I'm pretty sure it's one of you mods that prevents them to respawn.

Neighborhood stories does not marry sims, place sims on lots, nor move them between households.  So, you have something else going on.  If you have MCCC, that mod will do those things.  So, you need to check your MCCC settings to disable NPC marriages, moving sims, etc.  Most of the settings you will need to adjust will be in the Population module but there are probably a few things you might need to adjust in other modules like the Pregnancy module.  There are other mods that might do this too, so you really need to check all that you have to make sure none of those are causing what you had happen.

Before NS, I played with MCCC and had story progression on.  I had the same thing happen with Simeon back when RoM was new.  He had been moved onto a lot and had a wife and a couple of kids before I caught it.  But he never lost the Sage role.  I moved them out of the lot and took the household to CAS and deleted the wife and kids, leaving him alone in the household.  As long as any of the Sages are not made playable by placing them on a lot and opening the household in live mode, they will continue to hold that role.

Hope this helps.

Neighborhood Stories does indeed move Sims into lots. One of the settings for Neighborhood Stories is Move In, and the tooltip for Move In says, "Households may move into unoccupied lots of any Residential world." I've had quite a few Sages move into houses.

Mods? Never used.

The same thing happened to me. What I did was coping my save files just in case, save all of my cirrent households into my gallery, create a new save file and place the families on they’re lots
