My Household Cannot Travel

★★ Novice

A certain household of mine cannot travel anywhere no matter what I do.

I have repaired my game, took CC and mods out. I have retrieved and tried recover files, but no matter what whenever I try to travel with this household, it makes the music when you arrive, but the loading screen never goes away.

I also tried to see if this glitch happens with my other households but it does not. If anyone could help me, I would really appreciate it!

If you've updated things that you knew needed updating, the next thing to do is to test everything else via 50-50 on your Mods folder. This means organizing the files there into bite-size batches (with any files they require, like XML Injector or a Core Library mod or mesh) and testing one batch at a time. For each test, delete the file called localthumbcache, then put only that batch in Mods. If your game behaves as you expect, set that batch aside as "cleared" and delete localthumbcache again. If it doesn't behave as you expect, take out half the batch and see if you're closer to finding the culprit. Remember to delete localthumbcache each time. You'll find some 50-50 method tutorials online too. Once you isolate the file, you can go find out if there's an updated version you'd missed. Checking installation methods helps too.

@noubarrymuffin   Hi!  That sounds really frustrating. :-(  I wonder if you might try moving that household to a different lot, just to see if they're able to travel?

When I tried load into the game into another household who lives in the same building, it got stuck on the loading screen again. So now I am truly stuck in a rut. I dont know if my city living expansion pack is broken or what but I have tried everything.

Hi @noubarrymuffin Please try loading an earlier version of your save, and also check for mod updates (you can start with Broken/Updated Mods ).

Hi @luthienrising I have loaded previous saves and it still didnt work. I have come to the conclusion that there is something wrong with my CC folder. I took out my whole mods folder and went in the game and could travel fine and switch households without getting stuck on the loading screen. I took it a step further and put my mods folder back but and took out my CC folder and it was still working fine, all of my mods are up to date. Once I put my CC folder back, I got stuck on the loading screen past the arrival music. The problem is I have thousands of pieces of CC so I dont know where to start, do you know where I could start?

Hi @luthienrising Thank you so much for all your help! I did the 50/50 method and found the pieces of CC that were making my game glitch!

P.S. for anyone who may be having the same problem if you have any TRILLQUEEN CC, you may want to delete it because it is broken.
