I have been getting this better exceptions report each time I restart my game Category ID: cpp_message.py:167. I have turned off all my CC except Better exceptions. and I have repaired my game in Steam. However I still get the same BE report when I start my game. It happens on my main game play and on my test game.
Exception date 2023-08-11 "No mods are installed, so it is likely this is an official game bug..." Possible cause : cpp_message Reason: Exception raised while trying to run a test event in test-events.py (indexError:list assignment index(0)out of range) MCCC not installed. mod count: packages 0 scripts 0
Do you still recommend moving the entire sims fold out to back up and starting a new sims 4 folder?
Windows 11, I have nearly all the expansion packs.

I succeeded in starting a brand new install of the game as is listed above, and I moved the tray, saves, and mods over. It took me all day testing it and getting the newest updates of my mods because Curse Forge does not yet have them. The BE Error is gone, thankfullly. and finally around midnight I loaded my main game and it seems to be working fine. PHEW! I am pretty sure I had gotten the error because I had installed a CC mod that didn't function correctly and then uninstalled it and then that is when the BE error started happening.

To give a follow up. Even after Reinstalling the Sims 4 game, I was still getting the same BE report error as above. but I was only getting it the moment I entered one of my lots. At first I thought it was the build. but it turned out to be one of the sims living in the build. I had split the family up and moved them all to different homes and the BE exceptions Error only happened when I went to where-ever I had put the father. Once I deleted him completely from my game, the BE exceptions disappeared. I can only think that it occurred because he had a career from the ECO Pack. and about a week ago I had turned OFF the ECO environmental effects to my game. Could that have effected his Career as ECO engineer? and therefor caused him to have the BE Exceptions of CPP-message?

No, it's not about eco life career. I also have this problem, but my sim doesn't have the eco life style career and actually doesn't have a job at all, I've only created him. It happens for me only in New Chrest and in the Bridgeview quarter. And also not every time. I thought also the problem is the house, but actually seems also not. Could you please tell me where do you have this problem?

@AnnaLiebtDieKatz Causes several patches ago are unlikely to be causes now. Could you please start a new thread with full info about what's happening? If you don't have any mods or CC, start in Game Issues, not here in Mod & CC Issues. If you have mods & CC, test vanilla before posting.

You're not alone.. I also started getting this error after the 1.108.335 Patch. What seemed to have triggered it for me was switching households. I had been trying to make all households played. At one point the error popped up and hasn't stopped. Seems to be save specific though.
