Ask To Pursue Dream Job Always Unsuccessful

Hello,

My sim's NPC girlfriend is a paparazzi, which I am not about. I don't want her to be in my household, but I do want her to change careers. I've tried to "Ask to Pursue Dream Job" 4 or 5 times on different days and in different moods, and she always comes back with the "idw to talk about it" notification. 

I've literally never had a 100% fail rate for this interaction. I can't seem to find the rules around this interaction anywhere online either. Their relationship bars are both at 100%, they are best friends, their compatibility is amazing. Do traits have to do with how receptive sims are to the dream job suggestion? Does anyone have any info on which traits would impact NPCs' responses to the dream job interaction? 

I don't get it, and I am certainly not trying to have my sim marry a paparazzi. I will eventually just use MCCC to get rid of her job, but I'd prefer to do it via gameplay if anyone understands why she insists on keeping her job.

@Shooflee_Charly  Sorry for the late reply.  I believe this is because the role of paparazzo/a is special; sims with the role may not be able to switch careers like normal sims.  So you may have to switch the sim into another career or at least make her drop her paparazza role.  That, in turn, you can accomplish by playing her for a few minutes; she'd need to be a resident first.
