Where did my save go?

I'm playing Mass Effect Legendary edition on my Xbox One console. I played all the way through ME1 with no problems and I get about 90% through ME2. I save my game and turn off the console. When I turn it back on, log back in and start up the game my ENTIRE ME2 progress has disappeared! What happened? How do I get it back? This is very disheartening; I really don't want to have to play all the way through it again to transfer my Shepard to ME3.

I've got a couple of suggestions that may help.

One is to start a new game, then go into the options and "load" a save from the other character you created like a different profile. Another option would be to uninstall the game completely, and when you reinstall it, it should sync the game. Loading the game on a separate console should also sync it.
