Ok, try this:

- Close Origin. (right click at the Task Bar icon > Exit)

- Go here and download the two DLLs.

- Navigate to \">drive<:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3\\Binaries\\Win32\\Core\" and rename the \"awc.dll\" and the \"EACore.dll\" to \"old_awc.dll\" and \"Old_EACore.dll\"

- Move the new \"awc.dll\" and \"EACore.dll\" files from the place you saved them into the directory listed above.

- Test the Game.

Hello,

I'm having this same problem - press 'play' but nothing happens...

The 'process' loads for a brief period of time in the 'Task Manager' but then disappears.

I tried the renaming dll's and then repairing the game, but it didn't work either.

Could you please provide a download link these same dlls you mentioned above? (i'm figuring they must be different versions, right?)

Hi there,

I have recently (2 days ago) downloaded ME3 (N7 Digital Deluxe edition) from Origin including the Citadel DLC. I've disabled the In-Game Origins and tried the previous .dll from the links in the prior posts but my computer still will not launch  ... or rather it launches but the window always minimizes to the taskbar and never runs past that. No game is running in the background either and will always default to the taskbar when I try to expand the window. 

Could you help me with this?

Try to repair the game. (in Origin > my games > right click ME3 > Repair Game)

If that not works, create a DxDiag and post it with your next reply. You can do that  with the button at the bottom right corner of the reply window. 

Uhmm ... i tried something while I was awaiting your aid. I went into the ME Config and played with the video settings and reset it to 'Windowed' mode. It now works. Now I feel foolish thinking it was a much worse problem. Thank you for your time, I hope I didn't waste it.

I Figured out a solution; 

1. Compatibility mode for the masseffect3.exe to windows 7 mode. 

2. Run as admin.

I am going to contact EA tomorrow and let them know that everything they have told me was wrong and those 2 things are the fix that they should be giving people. I really hope that others see this. But don't be to hard on the EA guy's, they can't link you to stuff that is not 100% official.

Please create a DxDiag in text file format, also go to your Reliability monitor (Press the windows key and \"R\" at the same time and copy or type \"perfmon /rel\" (without the quotes) in > ENTER and look if it has ME3 entries.

If yes double click at the last one, copy it to the clipboard, (Bottom left corner) save it to a text file and load it up together with the DxDiag. You can do that with the \"choose file\" button at the bottom right corner of the reply window.

Run the Windows System File Checker Sfc /scannnow and post the concluding message.

If Sfc /scannow did not find any errors, creater a new windows user account (Administrator) > reboot > log in to the new user account and test.

I'm at my wits' end with this, I feel like I've done every step that others have found to fix this problem but it won't work for me. My issue is the same - go to launch through origin, no error message. Just click the play button and nothing happens.

So far I have:

* tried replacing the awc and EAcore .dll files

* moved all the directx files except DSETUP.dll, dsetup32.dll, and DXSETUP.exe to another folder

* changed compatibility mode to windows 7 (currently running windows 10)

* tried launching in windowed mode rather than full screen

* tried repairing the game

* uninstalling the game completely and re-downloading from scratch

^ those were all fixes that seemed to work for other people but they did nothing for me.

The most frustrating part is that when I first installed the game a few days ago it ran perfectly, no issue at all. Came back to it 3 days later and this is the case. So I have no idea where to go with it now.

Ok, there is nothing in your DxDiag that would explain this problem. (Lots of chrome crashes though.)

Try to repair the game. (in Origin > Game Library > right click ME3 > Repair)

If this don't helps, disconnect your second monitor > reboot > Test.

If that also don't helps, what happens if you start the game from the \"MassEffect3.exe\"?  (>drive<:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3\\Binaries\\Win32)

Where did you get the awc.dll and the EAcore.dll files frome?

Chrome crashes are likely due to power outages around here recently due to some construction work - had power go out multiple times which meant whole PC crashes, so guessing that could be it?

I haven't considered anything to do with second monitor, I'll give it a shot. I tried repairing the files, but no luck there. When I repair at the end of the repair process I get the same DirectX error others have gotten. The only way I've gotten that to go away is as mentioned, moving all directX files except the 3 main ones from the folder - seems to stop that error.

When I start the game from the .exe file I get an error message .. can't remember 100% what it says - will have to wait till I'm home in a couple of hours and check. 

I got the awc and EAcore files from a link in one of the threads in this forum - https://onedrive.live.com/?id=2094BE7D3E2E27DB%213611&cid=2094BE7D3E2E27DB

Other people seem to report that those files worked for them. Is there another source?
