I have read a fair amount of posts with issues similar to mine (most of them are from around 2015 or earlier) and it seems that in the past these issues have been resolved by Origin updates this has however not worked for me.
I have tried reinstalling both ME3 and the Origin client separately and so far I have had no success in solving this inconvenience so i'd appreciate a word of advice.
I am unsure of what information I could provide that could help solve this; I doubt that my specs matter but I am running win10 and have tried both the normal Origin version and the beta one.
Thank you.

For anyone who might be experiencing similar issues I have found a fix that pretty much helped with any problem I had on the technical side.
Said fix being forwarding the UDP Port 3659 to my PC. (yes as in with my router)
Now I hate how that worked and question why it did at all but hey it did.
Thank you again @holger1405 for trying to solve this with me and maybe this might help in future or it just gives closure ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ who knows.

2560x1440.
Yes I did.
Also: I had neglected to mention that the overlay works on all other EA games i have tried.

Try to set it to 1920x1080 and test.

First off; I appriciate your help
Secondly I have tried now with all sorts of combinations as well... 1080 fullscreen, 1080 borderless, 1440 on either config as well with some randoms ones mixed in and i restarted the game every time to see if it had changed but nothing at all

The resolution trick worked sometimes back in the days, but mostly if the game resolution was lower than 1080P.
The problem is that there is afaik no real indication (and never was) why it does work on other games, but not on ME3.
Please preform a clean boot and test in clean boot mode.

I have now tried in clean boot mode both with 1080p and 1440p on either of which with fullscreen/borderless so booted up me3 4 times in clean boot mode and yet again nothing at all

Please create a DxDiag in text file format and post it with your next reply. You can do that with the "Choose file" button at the bottom right corner of the reply window.

DxDiag is attached.
I might just give up if you don't find anything because as previously stated it isn't detrimental but rather just inconvenient.

Something I forget to mention, you made sure that both "Origin in Game" options are enabled? The global in the Origin settings, and the one for the game in the game properties section of Origin?
You disabled your Corsair software at the clean boot too?
