ME3 not working due to Origin being offline

★★ Novice

I have a problem with Origin/Origin Client on Windows XP.

Tried different versions of Origin. Latest was 9.4.11.2806 version.

I can't access the "My games" option as it not showing any of my games. I had Mass Effect 3, Crysis, and Dragon Age installed, but it seems im missing all of them, as my library is empty. Played all of them and wanted to get back to ME3 lately.

Anyways when trying to install Mass Effect 3 from CD it shows that I need to update the Origin. When I click on "Install" the downloading panel appears and then at 0,00% there pops an error (the 2nd image added is that error), so im unable to update it and install.

Already downloaded the legacy(or whatever it is called) version of Origin which supposed to run on older OS: such as XP and Vista. Downloaded from official page. But it does not work either.

There appears an error: "Disconnected: Critical Update Required". You can see the rest in first added photo. So when im clicking restart the same message pops over and over again.

All I want is that Origin to be available to go online,  to install ME3, nad to buy and download all the DLC content. I was a really huge fan of ME3, so I am so unhappy of not being able to play it, especially when I decided to get all the available content. I know many years passed since the release of the game and the DLC's, but we all want to get back to those games which we loved and always will.

I hope it can still be fixed somehow. I know that Windows XP lost the Operational system support for Origin. However I have paid for Games that were designed to run on this OS through Origin and now I cannot access them in that OS.

I made a similar post at Origin site here on Answer HQ. But maybe someone here would help me, or at least try Standard smile

Do you have Service Pack 3 (SP3) installed in Windows? That is part of the minimum requirements for ME3

Can you first do a full, manual uninstall as detailed here:

https://help.ea.com/en/help/origin/origin/manually-uninstalling-origin/

Then install your Legacy version again and make sure you are using a Windows User account that has Administrative privileges and you run the Origin install as an Administrator. You may need to temporarily disable your antivirus or any other security software and also perform a clean boot to help ensure there is no other software interfering with the installation. I do have Service Pack 3 installed in Windows.

Did a full manual uninstall as detailed.

Now I can't install Legacy version, there pops a window that I need internet connection (which I have, 100% sure it is connected all the time, since downloaded the legacy version just before trying to install it) and that I should download the newest version of Origin ( which won't run on Windows XP ). Disabled antivirus etc., performed a clean boot. It just don't want to install it at all.

You may want to look at firewall settings as well as type of internet you have.

1)  Disable Firewall until Origin installs.

2)  What kind of internet do you have??  Wifi??  Wired??  Do you use a router or direct to modem??
