Not really much to see, just trying to connect for nearly a minute.

Galaxy At War may or may not show up.

No MP banner.

Done the uninstall/repair/reboot router things.

Do you have issues in MP as well?

Try to clear your Origin cache.
All settings in Origin (only in Origin not in the games) are back to default settings after this.)

• Close Origin completely.
  (right click on the Origin symbol in the task bar > close)
• Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
• Type or copy and paste "%ProgramData%/Origin" (without quotes) into the new window > hit ENTER
• Delete all the files and folders in the Origin folder, except for the "LocalContent" folder.
  (The "LocalContent" folder must remain untouched.)
• Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
• Type or copy and paste "%AppData%" (without quotes) into the new window > hit ENTER
• Now your Windows explorer should have brought you to your "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Roaming" folder.
• Delete the "Origin"  folder inside the "Roaming" folder.
• In the address bar of your Windows explorer click on "AppData".
• Open the "Local" folder.
• Delete the "Origin"  folder inside the  "Local" folder.
• Restart your PC. > test

If that don't helps, you could give your ISP a call if they see a problem with the connection.

This is a problem in the game since it came out. Sadly Holger1405's answer won't work.

• If you cut the game or your PC from the internet either through your firewall or by unplugging your ethernet cable, the menu should boot in seconds.

• After that, you can connect your PC again. The game will then only try to connect to the EA servers when you click on multiplayer or you reboot the game.

The game has only started doing this to this extent in the last couple of months.

And unfortunately, you are correct about Holger1405's answer.

And I don't think it's me when I see other people complaining about the same thing.

Yes, that's not a problem.
Only thing I play really.

It's just that everything is taking ages to connect (I do realise the game is getting on a bit now)

True, but that should not make it to load slower.

It is a problem that can have many triggers, and I am not sure if a major troubleshooting would be a good idea if that is the only problem.

That is of course possible. I would suggest to monitor it over a week or two.

If it is not better then, I would contact EA directly. If you are not from the US change the country in the top right corner.
