Whenever I click the "play" button, my screen blinks and then... nothing. The game doesn't launch. My friends see me as being in-game, but I checked the task master and the game's not running anywhere. I've never had this problem in the past, including with this same operating system, and am baffled as to what's causing it. Any ideas?

Is there a "Mass Effect 3" folder under "Documents\BioWare"?
If so move it to your desktop > Test. (If not please tell us)
If that don't helps, please look at this guide. to preform a clean uninstall of Origin.

Please create a DxDiag in text file format and post it with your next reply.
If you use Windows 7 also go to your Reliability monitor > Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time and copy and paste or type "perfmon /rel" (without the quotes) in the new Window > hit “ENTER” and look if it has entries for the game you have trouble with.
If yes double click at the last entry for the game executable, copy the info to the clipboard, and save it to a text file.
You can attach the DxDiag text file you created (and the “Reliability monitor” text file as well) to your post in the “Reply” window with the “Choose File” button.

Looks overall good, but no ME3 errors. Pleas look in the reliability monitor if you can find errors there.
There are a few Windows update errors in the DxDiag, make sure that Windows is fully updated.
There are a lot of Crysis.exe errors related to "MSVCR80.dll". This DLL is part of the VC++ 2005 runtime, you might want to reinstall that.
For ME3: (If one step don't works, go to the next)
Try to repair the game. (in Origin > Game Library > Right click ME3 > Repair) > Test
Disable Origin in Game > Test.
If that don't works, look at this post > Preform the operations > Test.

I downloaded the VC++ 2005 link, didn't fix my issue with Crysis tho.

For ME3:
Disabling Origin in-game didn't do anything.
There is no option to "repair".
The steps in the previous thread didn't work (I actually tried that first before I asked). Any other ideas?

OK, that there is no repair option is strange.
What is your Origin version number?
Please upload the "Client_Log.txt" (C:\ProgramData\Origin\Logs) and the "InstallLog.txt". (>drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 3\__Installer)
(The InstallLog.txt might be to big for a upload, if so copy the last 1000 entries or so to a new text file and load that up.)
Then check the Winnows system files:

Here's Client_Log.txt and the PowerShell image.
"InstallLog.txt" doesn't appear to be at that location. I can't find it.

The long way of removing and reinstalling the Origin client worked. I hit repair, and now ME3 actually launches. Thank you so much!
Now if only there were as easy a fix for Crysis...

Good to hear!

I almost forgot about that one.
