Carpal tunnel syndrome playing Mass Effect 3

After playing 5 games in a row fingers and wrist are killing me. Why does the game  not respond easier, its the HEAVY ATTACK. It makes no sense that the heavy attack i\s so hard to do with this game. What doing it is that the attack does not respond when it so you mashing your keyboard.

If you are mashing your keyboard @jojobe71 then the heavy attack will not work, in order for you to perform a heavy melee attack, you need to hold down the melee button.
