mass effect 2 crashes constantly

What the title says.

Basically I encounter constant crashes, always happening while launching a drone. While crashes don't occur every time I launch a drone, they do eventually occur on every session. Changing the game resolution or playing in windowed mode didn't help. Neither did playing unde windows xp sp 3 compatibility mode. Repairing the installation files with Origin didn't either. Virtually the game is unplayable at this point.

I'm kinda sad since I only heard great things about this game, but I can't progress due to constant constant crashes.

Edit: using fully updated Windows 10 + drivers on an Haswell i5 with a Radeon 390x and ssd drive

Read here, also disable "Origin in game".
