YouTube third party copyright claim

★★★ Newbie

I have recieved a copyright claim from a third party (Viacom) against an upload I did ~1.5 years ago of a playthrough I did of Mass Effect 2. This video is in the let's play vein (not monetized, just uploaded to share for fun as are all my other videos), and the claim states that the content (some planet scanning) was in a review that Viacom claims. The video is now blocked worldwide. However, this video, and all others I have uploaded, were all recorded from my own gameplay or my own other activities.  Is filling out the EA Permission Request Form and emailing it to permissionrequests@ea.com the proper way to go about disputing the claim from Viacom?

Yes, that would be the proper way.

Since game play videos fall under "fair use", Viacom's copyright claim is unlawful. This unethical practice to censor internet content is now very common on YouTube.
