I bought the Trilogy on disc. I completed ME 1, but for some reason I don't have the "Bioware" folder anywere. I have BioGame folder though, but the saves aren't in there.

The standard location of the save files is "C:\Users\>your user name<\Documents\Bioware\Mass Effect\Save"
Or short: "Documents\Bioware\Mass Effect\Save"
If the saves are not there it is possible that either you or a program like "OneDrive" changed the location of the standard Windows documents directory.

On the off chance someone Googling is having this same problem... if you can see the Mass Effect 1 character save file on the import screen in Mass Effect 2, but when you select "import" nothing happens, check your anti-virus software.
I was having this issue with Avast, and disabled it, then I could import. It also causes an issue with saving in ME1. You can try adding an exception in Avast (or whatever anti-virus you use), but specifically for Avast, in addition to adding an general exception, you need to go into the Ransomware shield and then click allow program and add MassEffect2.exe and ME2Game.exe. Then you can import you ME1 save.

I've been having a lot of trouble with this but now I've been able to import my save files from ME1 to 2. Thanks for your post!

such a legend. Thanks man.

@TheExaltedMarch; Wow! I knew that AVG/Avast caused ME:A to fail (couldn't launch.) But had no idea those a/v programs also interfered with something as simple as an ME1==>ME2 import. Thanks for posting this workaround!

Are you using "OneDrive"?
If so look in the OneDrive folder.
