Hey, Can someone give me detailed instructions, step by step, copying my ME1 save from Steam, onto ME2 from Origin. I beat ME1 and I wanna keep going, but without having to buy ME1 thhrough origin and starting all over. Please help?

You can find that here. The Save Game location is the same on both clients.

doesn't work for me at all, saves is not located in config, and config is not located in binaries, have tried copying save from my ME1 saves folder into config and binary, neither worked

You need to navigate to your "Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 2\Save" folder.
Create a folder named "ME1" (Without the quotes) inside this "Save" Folder.
Now copy the Mass Effect Saves from the Mass Effect save folder ("Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect\Save") into the "ME1" folder you created.
Now ME2 should "see" your ME1 characters.

I'm using Origin trying import my mass effect 1 save file to Mass effect 2 but I see no Save folder at all in the Mass effect 2 folder.

So you have no "Save" folder in your "Documents\Bioware\Mass Effect 2" folder?
(Note: Just to make sure, this does not refer to the Mass Effect 2 Game folder under ">drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2" or ">drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mass Effect 2" if you use the Steam version.
If not search your Machine for "*.pcsav" files to find the Mass Effect save folder.

Having problem with importing save files from ME1.
Tried config. Tried saving settings in config.
Tried creating ME1 folder in ME2 saves folder and copying contents of ME1 saves folder to it.
ie the save files themselves.
C:\Users\Martin\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 2\Save\ME1
I assume that's the right setup?
Also tried putting the files into the save file under me2 and also in install directory.. it just doesn't detect the saves.

Your ME1 Save games are in the "Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 2\Save\ME1" folder?
Did you changed or do you use software (onedrive for example) that changes the standard Windows "Document" folder?
If not try to run Origin and ME2 as Administrator.

Literally none of what you said worked. So any other suggestions?

ME2 "expects" to find your ME1 saves in the following location: "C:\Users\<username>\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect\Save"
THAT'S where you put the relevant "Charactername_MassEffectSave" file. If such a folder doesn't exist, ('cuz new computer, no install of ME1, etc.) just create it, then copy the save file there.
