Mass effect 2 not installed?

So I purchased ME2 on steam a while back and I'm not trying to download the cerberus pack dlc, like Zaeed, the Normandy crash site, etc. but here's the problem: it says that I don't have the game itself installed on my computer. At first, i assumed that Steam didin't install it right, so I deleted my files and reinstalled, but it still says I don't have ME2 installed. Please tell me I don't need to rebuy the game on Origin for it to work properly. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure how to get your DLC to play nice with the Steam edition of the game, but you can use the product code from steam to register the game on Origin and download it from there. Of course, their download currently seems to have a corrupt file, but you will not need to repurchase.
