Then follow the instructions in post #6.

If the game don't works after that:

You need to wait a little after you put in "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth"

The validation progress should start after a short wile.

DISM.png

After it reached 100% and if it didn't gave you an error message:

  • Press the Windows key and "X" at the same time.
  • Choose "PowerShell" (Adminisrator)" or "Command prompt (Administrator)"
  • In the "PowerShell" or "CMD" window, at the prompt, type or copy and paste "sfc /scannnow" (Without the quotes and the S must be a lowercase inside the power-shell) > ENTER
  • Post the concluding message.

There is a "n" too much in "scannow"
Please try again.

That worked as intended.

You also did used the "bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff" command and the game still don't lunches?

Make sure Origin is closed > Delete the "MassEffect.exe" and the "MassEffec2tLauncher.exe".

Run Origin as an Administrator (Right click the Origin shortcut on your desktop > Run as an administrator)

Go to your game library and click "Download" (Don't worry, Origin will only download a few files.)

Test.

If that also don't works, please post a new DxDiag.

Ok, try this:

  • Make sure Origin is completely closed.

  • Go to "C:\Users\>your username>\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 2" and move the "Save" folder and the "BIOGame" folder to your desktop.
(Just to make this clear, the named folders must be gone from the "C:\Users\>your username>\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 2" path.)

  • Go to ">drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2\Binaries" and move the "MassEffect2.exe", the "MEGame2.exe" and the "MassEffect2Config.exe" (the last one could also be a level higher) to your desktop.

  • Go to "">drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2" and delete the "data" folder.

  • Start Origin > in the ME2 Game library click on "Download" again > after the installation finished > reboot.

  • Test.

Edit:Typo

No problem and you're welcome! Standard smile

It was surely more trouble for you. Have fun gaming.

Edit: You can move your "Save" folder back to the original location.

I doubt that a save file is the culprit. If I am wrong and the game crashes again, test the save files, one after another.

After doing everything everyone suggested it still wouldn't work. I was about to give up... On a hunch, using MassEffect2Config.exe i set it on Windowed mode and it worked. I have no idea what happened as I never had issues with this.

But it works!!!!
