Manually importing ME1 save

HI im reinstalling ME2 and heard i have to manually import my ME1 save as the ME2 config tool is as usefull as a butter knife at a sword fight. Any way getting back to the point can any of you please tell me what files i need to manually import into the ME2 save folder?

The file with the character name you want to import goes in that folder

You need to create the subfolder called ME1 in the ME2/SAVE directory, of your user/my documents directory.

 

Then, you just place in that folder the savegame you want to import (usually, it is an autosave, since the game autosaves after you beat the game)

Do i put the char_ file in then? or do i put that and another file in?

I tried launching from my desktop and I tried launching from Origin and nothing.
