Genesis not giving prompt on a new save

So I started a new game on Mass Effect 2 with my EA account connected on it and the Genesis DLC installed. I played through the opening cutscene where Shepard gets killed, make my character and started the part where Shepard gets woken up by Miranda. At no point does it give me the prompt to start, like it says it should. How can I start it?

It only starts if you don't import a character from ME1. 

Do you start a brand new game?

If you are on a PC delete the "DLC_DHME1" folder from the ">drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2\BioGame\DLC\" folder and re-download the DLC.

I've noticed the complete absense of a DLC folder. I'm going to reinstall the game to see if that works.
