HI, i was curious. i am playing ME1 and every time i move, there is a little marker which shows up. what is this and can i turn it off? its quite annoying.

That's a squad command. This command tells your squadmate to move to this location. Squad commands in ME1 are bound to the arrow keys by default.

Do you have movement assigned to the arrow keys? Because I think you have multiple actions bound to the same keys. Just go to the game options and assign squad commands to different keys.
