Hey ,

yeah I still need help with it. I'll try to download it soon again from Steam after I deleted it completly, also tried to contact the SecuRom support but the servers are mostly not avaiable sadly.

The Steam installation does not contain secuRom anymore, if the game doesn't run after a clean installation the problem is probably in Windows.

Ok thats really good to know, I'll give it a try, but maybe only after Easter.

So I've installed the Steam Version and uninstalled evryfolder I could find of my previous tries with the normal CD. Problem is now the game just loads shortly, my Acc. is marked green that I'm in game and after a few sec. it just turns blue again like I'm not in a game but for me just nothing happens.

Will try somethings maybe I can solve it by myself or do you have a idea?

Sooo I fixed the problem pretty fast ^^. Just wanted to let you know If someone in the future has the same problem. You just need to go to where you installed Mass Effect so for me it's

C->Programms(86)->Steam->Steamapps->common->Mass Effect than binaries. Than you right click on the Mass Effect.exe (the silver "M") -> properties->compatibility. Than you just need to activate for Windows XP(service Pack 3) and run it as a admin and thats it propably. 

The problem I started this for doesnt appear any more but I still dont know how to fix it for people who buy/own the game on a CD without Steam or Origin.
