When attempting to run Mass Effect I get the following error: Failed to compile global shader FDOFAndBloomGatherFallbackPixelShader
1. Computer specs
windows 10
i7- 8700
16 gB ram
gtx 1070
2. My graphics driver is up to date. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled it
3. I have cleared the .cab files and reinstalled directx. I have even installed the directx june 2010 version as other articles have mentioned
4. I have tried disabling the intel graphics driver.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks ahead

Did you checked if the GTX 1070 is used by the game?
If the don't helps create a DxDiag in text file format and post it with your next reply.
Also go to your Reliability monitor > Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time and copy and paste or type "perfmon /rel" (without the quotes) in the new Window > hit “ENTER” and look if it has entries for the game you have trouble with.
If yes double click at the last entry for the game executable, copy the info to the clipboard, and save it to a text file.
You can attach the DxDiag text file you created (and the “Reliability monitor” text file as well) to your post in the “Reply” window with the “Choose File” button.

thanks for replying. When I go to the nvidia control panel I actually don't have that option (select preferred graphics driver). I only have options 1 and 3 in your picture. Attached the DxDiag text file, but not the Reliability monitor as the game did not show up there.

Sorry for the late answer, had to read up on your Alienware PC, they are always a bit special.
Try to repair the game. In Origin > Game Library > right click ME > Repair (I know you reinstalled, do it anyway please.)
This Point might look obvious, but to make sure.
Your Monitor is directly connected to your dedicated GPU?
If that is the case, install the latest driver available from Dell.
Install the graphic driver this way:
• Download DDU:
• Install (if you have profiles for games, back them up using "NVIDIA inspector")
• run DDU > save mode > NVIDIA Software and Drivers > Clean and Restart.
• shut down your virus scanner and all background applications.
• Run the installation EXE > CUSTOM mode > install only the GPU Driver and the PHYSX software.
• Reboot >Test.
