The current maps are really way too big and it weakens the game.
You could delete a third of the maps and you'd still have games where you're searching for people across the map.
The massive map doesn't really make sense because the game is balanced towards fighting. That's the attraction.
Running and doing nothing kills it.
So it doesn't really fit with the strenghts of the game, it actually weakens it massively to spend several games in the row SEARCHING for teams across the entire map.
There's zero fun in running around doing nothing for 5 minutes but stare at useless attachments.
So just throw away AT LEAST a third of the maps and the balance would be way better.
Apex SHOULD be a fight intensive Battle Royale.
Just delete the places nobody drops or goes to instead of adding new things there.
And you could have taken those places and the "new" areas on Kings Canyon and Worlds edge from season 5 and 6 and basically made a new map from that and that would've been better than two maps that are too big.
And Bring back the ORIGINAL Worlds Edge Capitol please 🙏
Enough with this "fragment east west".
The original was way better.

Smaller map means easier third parties which is the core problem of most battle royale games. Please think logically.

I have to agree with the original post.
What makes Apex stand out within the sea of Battleroyal franchises is it's fast pace movement and gun fights. Is it difficult? Yes. But also so rewarding.
Olympus has an incredible map design. The flow and fast pace nature is what makes it the best in the game. Is it perfect? No. But still fast paced and enjoyable.
There are several areas of this map that could be removed and I don't think anyone would really notice. But they do make for some fun endzone fights, mixing up the terrain - It's small (but not too small), and works to the strength of 60 player lobbies, unlike World's Edge's running simulator.
You both chose to disagree with the idea, highlighting an issue with third partying. But isn't that a separate issue? And what the design of a map must look to balance?
Last I checked this was a post about a smaller map design, not one that discusses a game mechanic which has been untouched by Respawn since the start of the franchise.
If Respawn wanted to eliminate third partying, they would introduce shield for kills... whether that's with an immediate or gradual shield regen, and not introduce characters like Valk, which promotes it.
