ratings only apply to AI or what?

I just got through with lvl and my Lynch (that I paid cash for) was gang tackled by 5 or more players numerous times against teams that only had 1 or 2 players faster. What's the deal? Why cant we get what we PAY FOR? Is it really too much to ask? How can a player with only 1 point higher spd run 30yds to catch up with the lower spd player? How do you guys do math? Nothing is proportional, constant, believable or FAIR about this thing.

Its probably just "if x player has higher rating than y player = this result" I dont think how much better really has an effect.

That would be ok if ea didn't tout Madden as being the most realistic football.
