Losing Connection After Wining a Live Event

I have missed out on rewards twice now. After I played the live event "Thanksgiving Day Greats" I completed the objective and upon loading the rewards screen connection timed out twice. This has cost me xp, coins, and the CHANCE at a Gold or better Thanksgiving Player. Can you provide me a solution.
