screen time limits not observed on iPadOS

[ Edited ]

I imagine that this is not a frequently complaint, but as a parent, I'm interested in limiting the time my son spends on Madden NFL Mobile.

However, I've confirmed that the Screen Time limits on iPadOS do not apply to Madden NFL Mobile: even if I set the limit to 45 minutes for Madden NFL Mobile, my son can play as long as he wants.

I checked with Apple tech support, and they confirmed that this is a problem with Madden NFL Mobile.

Can this please be fixed ASAP?

Hey there! As a parent myself I understand where you're coming from with your concerns. While EA does have parental control settings for EA/Origin accounts, our mobile games don’t have parental control settings at the moment. We'll pass along your feedback to our respectable teams, though.

Some EA mobile games are age-gated, meaning we ask for a date of birth, and child users play a version of the game which does not include social features.

I can tell you what worked for me, what i did was this worked Screen Time on your iPhone, but here are some steps you can try to fix it:-

1. Restart iPhone:- A simple restart can often resolve temporary glitches that might be causing Screen Time to malfunction. Refer to the appropriate method for your iPhone model to perform a force restart.

2. Verify Screen Time Enabled:- Go to Settings > Screen Time. Make sure "Screen Time" is toggled ON.

3. Check Date & Time Settings:- Incorrect date and time settings can interfere with Screen Time functionality. Ensure your iPhone's date and time are set to automatic. Go to Settings > General > Date & Time. Make sure "Set Automatically" is toggled ON.

4. App Limits Active:- Screen Time app limits only apply to certain app categories, not all apps. Review the app categories and specific apps assigned time limits within Screen Time settings.

5. Downtime Turned On:- Downtime restricts all app and notification usage during a scheduled period. Ensure "Downtime" is toggled ON within Screen Time settings if you want it to function.
