I actually enjoyed this game a couple of weeks ago. I spent some cash to upgrade my team, enjoyed the live events, even did pretty good in the head to head portion. But, now it has changed. Let me explain my hatred for this game.
There's a lot of really bad players on this game. I understand the concept of building a winning team, and I accept the challenge. I play a few regular season games. I play out a regular season with enough wins for the playoffs. I dominate the competition and win my first super bowl! Great!
Feeling confident, I head over to the Head to Head competition. I get quite a few wins there, but quickly realize my team is not what it should be. So my next course of action is to buy some player packs. Surely, with the promise of a Silver or Gold player, I'll win big with these. After some real cash traded hands, I had a mediocre team at best. I got a few key players, but no qb. I had a ton of useless players though. So, I head to the auction house to off load these players. I posted them up, and sold a bunch of them there. I saw Sam Bradford, team of the week 86 rating. There's my new QB.
Back to head to head with my new gun slinger. I'm quickly mowing down the competition. This is it, my team has a decent rating now. Time to head back and win a few super bowl games now. After all, I really want to collect 10 of them to trade in for an upgrade.
I promptly win the next season, and take another super bowl trophy. My 3rd season is not as easy, but I win another trophy. By my 4th season, I can't complete a pass without throwing an interception. These defenders are like land sharks. Where did they come from. Surely, they can't get THAT much better in one season. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Maybe Ole Sam Bradford is loosing his touch. So, I do what any good team owner would do, I buy another QB. After trying to boost my receiver core, I only have enough to buy Jay Cutler at a deal. I make the replacement, and sell Bradford. This helps for a few games, but Jay starts playing like he does in the real world and throws multiple interceptions per game. I end up losing in the playoffs.
I attempt the next season with a different scheme. No longer will I rely solely on my QB for a win. I am going to hit the ground running. But, for some reason, my HB can't seem to hang on to the ball. Never had this problem before. I can make a good drive down the field, but in the red zone, he fumbles almost every time. I go back to Jay Cutler to air it out a few times to give my HB a break. BAM! Interception! Pick 6!
After 8 games in my 5th season, with a team rated 81 ovr, I'm sitting here with a record of 3-4-1. Something has to change.
My solution? I saved up some coins to buy a QB. I sold some players, traded in some players for the next level up, sold them, and with many nights of scheming, finally had enough to buy Peyton Manning. I venture into the live auction area, and there he is. I place a few bids in order to try to save some coin, but after getting outbid, I decide to pull the trigger on the buy it now option. CONGRATULATIONS! I can't wait! I hurry over to upgrade my team, and get back to winning super bowls. To my surprise, he's not on my roster. My only qb is Jay Cutler, whom I have grown to despise for all the interceptions he throws in the regular season games. My savior, for which I spent 400k coins on is nothing more than a ghost. And, I have no more coins.
The moral of my story is this......
THIS GAME IS A COMPLETE RIPOFF! IT'S NO DIFFERENT THAT ALL THOSE CANDY GAMES MAKING PEOPLE SPEND REAL CASH TO PASS THE NEXT LEVEL!
