Did you get it to work yet i have the same problem and it’s been doing it for months

Ever since the game came out it has only went to 20%and said unknown error and i have the iPhone 6splus

Can you try switching between mobile data and Wi-Fi when possible?

I have the same issue and it's not a restart problem, compatibility, memory space, ram problem or any of the suggestions I've seen yet.  My game works on data or on wifi except on the wifi where I work and no there's no restrictions or anything like that.  Is there any chance it's a java or java script issue?

Try removing your work's WiFi connection from your device and then re-add it.

I’ve tried mine both connected to WiFi and cellular and it still won’t load more than 40%. I have an IPhone 8 and I cleared up a lot of storage space.

@HerefordRancher0 Hi, this thread seems to be related to a different, older issue. We've since updated the game for the new season. 

For your own case, can you try uninstalling and reinstalling the app?
