At Electronic Arts, we believe in the power of positive play. Being part of a gaming community should be positive, fun, fair, and safe for all. When it comes to competition, we know there is a lot at stake. We know there are an incredible amount of highs and lows. And with that, an astonishing amount of stressful and anxious moments.
As we all are playing in self-isolation at our homes, often cut off from regular social and family support groups, we believe it is more important than ever to do what you can to take care of your mental health.
The Competitive Gaming team at EA has partnered with Rise Above the Disorder (RAD) to provide resources to competitive players to promote and practice positive mental health.
For all our players competing in EA broadcasted competitions, EA will be offering mental health informational sessions facilitated by RAD. These informational sessions will explore:
In addition to these informational sessions, RAD will offer a 24/7 on-call crisis hotline (phone, text, and online chat) to any players who will participate in an EA broadcasted competition. Players can use this discreet hotline to find the help they need in a moment of mental health crisis or distress.
We believe these resources will be the beginning of building a healthier and more positive community.
If you are a competitive player for EA and would like to sign up for these resources, please reach out to cgeresources@ea.com.
