What happens when the bug occurs? Game starts in English although I play in German (Game was bought in Germany and that's also my first language). Game starts and all my saves are gone. When I check my Sims 4 folder there's a new folder created with English title ("The Sims 4) alongside my original 'old' folder in German ("Die Sims 4) which has all of my saves, still.
What do you expect to see? Game starts in German, not English
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I've been trying to solve this problem myself for weeks, but I'm desperate.

I installed my game in German but suddenly I can only play it in English and I don't know why.

I play in German (Game was bought in Germany and that's also my first language). Game starts and all my saves are gone. When I check my Sims 4 folder there's a new folder created with the English title ("The Sims 4) alongside my original 'old' folder in German ("Die Sims 4) which has all of my saves, still.

I have already reinstalled the game (at least four times) as well as clearing the cache of the EA app (I'm playing Sims 4 on Macbook) but it does not change anything, it remains in English. How can that be? 

I am very grateful for any help since I've already contacted EA support and they can#t help with this issue.

Only customer support can check which game entitlements you have in your EA App game library. This includes the specific regional variation of the game you should have.
