Thanks. Let's do a proper search of your Mac. Open Terminal (Applications > Utilities) and copy and paste the following command then hit Enter/Return:

find ~ -type f -name "*Slot_*" 2>/dev/null

After a little while it will return the results of the search. You'll know when it's finished searching because the command prompt will reappear. Please copy and paste the results in a post here.

Following Terminal I found it in my ICloud -> Desktop -> EA -> Sims 4 -> Saves! So I guess it's on desktop for icloud. Thank you so much!! Now I'm just trying to figure out how to get this into a place where I can access it without messing it up again because I guess dragging and dropping is not the way to go... hahaha

Great Your saves MUST be in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves for the game to load them.

Thank you so much! I got my saves back and now I can see my old character there. Yay!!

Unfortunately, I'm still having the original issue which is that my character looks like this (screenshot) and when I try to click on her and load the game, the game just crashes. This was the original reason I tried to move my files to my desktop anyway.

Hi! Sorry I was on a work trip but I tried everything you said, completely went through the process of deleting the game, all the relevant files in the article you linked to (https://bluebellflora.com/how-to-uninstall-origin-on-a-mac/), and re-installing both the app and the game. Everything is installed (all the add ons too) and I'm still having that issue with my last played character being red and white and the game crashing as soon as I try and open it.

Maybe that specific Household or save is corrupted and cannot be fixed. Did you try a whole new clean Sims 4 folder and new save or did you just uninstall and reinstall the game and are still using the same user data in the Sims 4 folder?

Wow! So I created a brand new game, then saved it. Went back and loaded the old game and it worked fine. I had no idea that would do the trick but I tried it just as a test to see if the whole game was corrupted and it magically fixed the problem. Thanks for your help!
