Some kind of Desync? at octopus boss fight

Hey, i'm trying to play this game with one of my friends in england. and at the octopus boss fight there's some kind of massive desync inbetween our games. on one of our screens the boat could be facing towards the octopus but on the other it's facing the opposite direction, and it's making the fight impossible to finish.
