Other player has disconnected from session for 3 days

So i'm actually using the friends pass while my friend invites me to play the game. So far we've been doing fine, its cross country but it works and we've been able to advance to the snow globe chapter. Since the last 3 days we've been trying to play, all we are saying is "the other player has disconnected from the session" error. The same thing for the last 3 days and unable to play. Anybody know a fix or if this is a bug?
