It Takes Two bug on Snow Globe chapter

So my friend and I are playing It Takes Two, and we have gotten to the Snow Globe chapter. We get to the "Beneath the Ice" section of the game and we are about to complete it. We are trying to walk up the stairs of the tower when on my screen, Cody gets stuck. I am playing as May and I can continue walking until I reach the boundary. I haven't seen anymore else with this problem and we have restarted the game several times and we just can't get up the stairs. Please help!

The way I did it was I switched and went into a local game and I had my brother and I play the whole section, the reason I never said that was because we had to do it 3 times before it worked so it’s not a 100% fix

I've just found a solution to the online game. Me and my friend set all the graphics to low and it worked. I don't know why, but it did the job.
