(accidently posted in general discussion so leaving this here)
So first off i wanna say something about the people that have been posting the last couple of days and how immature these people have been. No manners and just overall bad language, complaining but not giving a real solution etc. I cannot take your complaint serious and I always assume you are a teenager with a one way road opinion and that is NOT what this review will be. i tested out season 2 for about 12 hours now and thus far this is my experience and personal opinion.
So with that being said i have to point out that i only Solo queue. My friends don't play Apex (they don't know what they are missing) and honestly i find it thrilling to play with random people and see how things turn out. I am max level, I haven't played season 1 so I can't compare the seasons with each other and am now Gold 4.
Map changes: Honestly it's so refreshing to see the map changes. The changes made to Cascades and Bridges were much needed and so very welcomed by me. Specially Cascades has turned into such a fun part of the map. The extra buildings and Leviathans really made it one of my favorite parts in the new map. Repulsor is still the same to be fair and Bridges is less painful to play at now you can't fall down any more. The tower there is always crawling with Snipers and that's cool by me. I'm not a sniper player but every type of player needs a little loving. Looking forward to what will happen with the area between Cascades and Swamp. Feels like Respawn has some fun ideas going for it.
A very personal opinion is that the Leviathans should have obliterated Skulltown but that's personal opinion. (I don't like Skulltown if you haven't noticed) Also what if the leviathan has to poo? Don't answer that!
Battlepass: Good rewards and being able to change the music and background gives a personal touch to each and everyone's game. Also dancing and flying at the same time? Hell Yeah! The skins are nice and feel rewarding.
Daily and weekly challenges: I'm gonna start off with giggling because I have read the forum. I need more challenges since i ran out of challenges already. I think they are good. Some are pointless but i never back out of a challenge. My inner completionist starts itching real bad otherwise. Also now there is a casual playlist which is great to ''experiment'' around in....like Bunker.
Weapons: I'm not going to say that much since i havent tried out the Hammerpoint and Disruptor rounds too much. What i will say on the other hands is that the L-STAR is a beauty. A solid weapon and appropriately obtained by a care package. (maybe a bit too solid but that's up for debate) Energy ammo magazines are also new and very welcomed to the game. I had the luck of getting the devotion with a big magazine and a TurboCharger. Let's just say that squad didn't stand a chance and it felt great!
Wattson: My lord is she fun. She truly can make teams go in directions you want them to go. Those fences she puts out are no joke and i have noticed people haven't really caught on to why you shouldn't cross those fences. The longer you stay alive with Wattson the more you increase your winning chance. The smaller the circle gets the more ground control you will gain. Her ultimate is super handy when trying to accomplish these things.
issues: So some things just seem a bit unbalanced with Wattson. For one is the ability to spam her Ult that much and that quick. It feels great but it doesn't feel right. Within the first 20 seconds of a match i can get my Ult and gain total ground control over a location which isn't a problem since you get so many fences. Her fences work like Caustic's traps and there can only be up a set amount at any given time. With Wattson it might be a bit much, like 1 or 2 too much, but this is debatable due to her traps not being as hidden as Gas traps. placement is key with Wattson.
Ranked: So i kinda like the new ranked playlist. I like the idea but it needs some fine tuning.
1. Why does bronze exist if you can't loose any points? All you can do is go up. Now I'm not saying to remove Bronze or have the rank cost points but you can only have 1 Bronze league.
2. As i mentioned now is you can't lose points in Bronze so it has basically turned into a brainless rush into Skulltown. (destroy Skulltown please)
3. No penalty for leaving? I'm not even going further into this one. For those that stick around to the end of the match dead or alive, you are the real OG and i bless you with eternal happiness for the rest of your lives.
4. Points adjustments are needed. Due to the nature of how the point system works i think it could need some changes. The brainless Skulltown rush really isn't my cup of cake and it does not guaranty people getting kills and gaining points but happens almost every match due to not really losing points in lower ranks. The points of entering a certain rank should cost some more. There should be a feeling of you actually entering a high stakes match which you will only get in Diamond/Predator rank. Points for killing are in the right spot but that is due to how the system works. But, and that's a big but, what i believe really should be implemented is a ''assist counts as kill' feature. The amount of times I do 90% of the job only to have someone take the kill from me is beyond believe. And I know people don't do this on purpose, they only try to take out the guy in order for us to survive. This has also happened to me where one person does all the job and i take the kill. You make me feel like a doodoohead when this happens. This is needed in ranked league at least cause i don't want my kills stolen from me and i don't want to accidentally steal kills/points. You do 90% of the job and you should be rewarded for it!
Conclusion: Overall i must say season 2 is a great succes. Respawn has some fine tuning to do due to the introduction of these new ranks and Legend(s) but i believe in you all.
Sidenote: Leaf error code is normal at this point. Not sure why the game has become Autumn but i hope it can get fixed. At least I never get disconnected during a match.
Also can you make a huge meteorite crash into skull town, carve out the inside, build some buildings around and in the meteorite, connect them with bridges and ziplines so it's a fun clusterfuck and not a boring clusterfuck of infinite flanks?
Feel free to give your opinion about my opinions and point out any faults in my statements. Keep it civilized. Make love, not Skulltown.
Cheers!
