I love playing titanfall 2 and apex. What I don't love is a game client that doesn't auto update even when I go and confirm that auto update is on. I don't love that downloads fail on my beasty connection nor do I love it when origin stops responding constantly even after more than a dozen reinstalls. Not even closing when I kill in task manager. I didn't mind origin, but I simply can't access my games anymore and customer service simply tells me to reinstall. Even doing that seven times today, origin is still bricked. Thanks very nice game client, 9/10 EA

Likewise, mate.
I don't know if this is an universal fix, but for those who can't get the latest season downloaded in the first place, for when the download is stuck on "preparing", the likeliest thing to help is to repair the game (Library > Right Click > Repair). It goes through the game files first, then downloads what's missing, and in this case also downloads the (also missing) seasonal update.
However I already have the update, and didn't get to try what other things can help, or if the problem now lies within Origin and not missing game files, in which case we can only wait for the devs to reply.
Hope this helps

Solution 1:
Uninstall origin
Delete all Origin related folder from appdata (user profile), program data, program files and custom folders like download cache if you moved it
With regedit.exe delete origin reg. folder under local_machine and current_user
Restart pc/laptop
Install latest origin.
This should help.
Solution 2:
Second solution if the above doesn't help:
Go to control panel/users
Create a new user account (only local user, no microsoft account added/connected)
Try the install process after solution 1 on the new user profile. Could be that your user profile got damaged in win10.
If it works (better), move your personal data over from original windows profile to new one, delete original win10 user profile. Make sure other apps and settings are also set up in the new profile for games and stuff (appdata contains lot of stuff under user profile along with desktop, my documents, downloads, etc.)
