I'm gonna start this one off with the main issue of the topic. Leaving games (even in casual games) needs to be punished in some way.
Starting off, this game started off being a 3-man-squad kind of game, where you need to play along side your teammates in order to succeed in the long run.
Sure, there are solo players who can manage fine on their own, I'm not saying they can't, but it takes the fun out of a game, when you go in with the mindset to PLAY WITH YOUR TEAM and not act as a solo player in a multiplayer game.
To clarify, here's an example:
(https://gyazo.com/1fb2862b0728de22854f94a89dbb432d <---Link to full Size Image)
The fact that the other 2, besides me (who were the jump master in this game) decided to land elsewhere on the map, only to get gunned down within the first 15-20 seconds of landing.
Even if i were to be close to them in order to make it before the timer ran out, to pick up their banners, they would just instantly leave the game as soon as they get downed and finished, rendering me alone vs 1-2-3-player squads for the remaining time in that game, is NOT what this game mode is intended to be.
That's why they have the LTMs such as Solo mode / Duo mode and many more, to please the average gamer and be a more versatile game.
The fact that players, such as myself, who mostly play this game to actually play with others, makes games like this (which are a high % of the total amount of games during the day) not even worth trying to describe in words.
It takes a huge chunk of fun out of the game along side with the fact that the game from time to time feels "stale" and not evolving as much as the major player base has hoped for.
I'm sure that many of you will bash and go "Ofc players shouldn't be punished for leaving a casual game", but the fact still remains (at least to me), if you chose a game that's based on playing with others, don't go playing alone.
Fluffy OUT!

There is no way punishing leavers in casual will make a better player experience. Why? Because then we have to start punishing certain "behaviors" as well which in most case are 100% arbitrary and subjective.
So lets look your example: You are the jump master, you ping a location and jumps but your two randoms choose to jump somewhere else, just like you describe in your example. But what if it was YOU who got killed instead of them. Would YOU then have been totally fine with having to wait for a respawn that wont come? NO you would leave, just like them. So how do we fix this? We would have to have rules that you have to stick to your jump master. But what if you jump master is a noob and pings a location along the dropship path but jumps 700 meters from it? You see where am getting?
Another example;
You play with two random and you have bad loot. You run in to an enemy team with gold armors and purple mags and you manage to knock two of them and take the third down to 1 hp before getting knocked and thirsted. THEN your useless randoms come and farts on the last enemy for 1 damage, killing him. Would you be happy to see them loot all the good stuff of the enemies, just to then have to wait several minutes for them to respawn you and come back with nothing in your inv? NO you wouldnt. You would leave the game, move on and jump into another.
So punishment for leaving casual is a bad solution if you ask me. Respawn should rather find out ways to encourage people to stay rather than pushing them for leaving because now, there are no incentives to stay, only to leave.

@o7_FluffyCottonYour logic makes sence but confuses me aswell, if the ‘’other 2 landed somewhere else’’ it means you are the one dropping solo lmao
so thats your fault... I choose to drop solo sometimes knowing I have a pretty good chance of being solo unless my teammates decide to follow me to wherever I am landing, you can’t expect them to always follow you if you drop solo even if you are the jumpmaster
The whole punishing in casual thing can’t happen or this game will be dead within a week, we ALL get freezes, crashes and encounter bugs every single week if not daily and getting punishments in both ranked and casual will kill this game faster than anything, thats only for the innocent players that leave for reasons beyond their control
Now for the next issue, as you stated above when a player drops solo theirs a 90% chance the 2 they are abandoning will leave instantly because they are trash and you will be punishing them for leaving while their teammate is off solo
Then you have all of the other reasons to leave, maybe your teammates are being really toxic, maybe they are running around like headless chickens, maybe you have to leave to do something irl, maybe your just on a losing streak or you literally just dropped and instantly died so its better to start a new match then watch 2 level 14s get killed
Casual is more like a playground, you can do whatever you want as its casual its not a competitive playing field until the final 5 or so , now if your dropping solo in ranked it can cause issues as alot of players would recieve punishments
overall if they gave the players solos/duos it would fix so many issues in this game and their wouldn’t be as much of a need to have penaltys (except in ranked)
some players like myself work better alone as a lone wolf or the main issue lately Im dropping solo to finish location based challenges, do you know how many times I had go to lava fissure or have my team land at lava fissure game after game for it to be totally empty every single time... then I got lucky and wiped a squad but then the process started all over and had to keep going their until a squad finally came for that last knockdown ._. and that was with me firing my 2 weapons making it sound like a fight so they would 3rd party and they looked so confused XD
then you have the duos who could care less about their third wheel teammate
then 90% of the players on squads would be players who actually want to be in a squad everyday... the problem now is most of us want solos/duos we could care less about the squad dynamic, also we are selfish and only care about ourselves and how we feel at the time
