@sevchankoIt is very difficult to win as a legend and I've already cursed my monitor out so many times because a shadow or hacking legend killed me. However I've actually won as a legend 21 times so far.
Winning as a legend can be easy if you know what to do and have the best of luck.
Winning Solo:
- I recommend picking Wraith because you can portal and phase as a last ditch effort to reach the ship
- Before jumping, look at the ring and try to determine where the evac ship will appear. The best way is to see which named location is mostly in the ring and to see how high or low the ring is. If the ring covers part of Airbase, Bunker, and most of Runoff, and is lower closer to Skulltown, the ring is most likely going to be in the settlement in-between Airbase and Bunker. If it's higher, it would be Runoff or Slums. This kind of prediction will help you be in the correct place for when it's final 10.
- Once you know where the evac will appear, jump and gather loot and try to avoid people.
- Once you got enough ammo and guns that are automated (no energy, shotguns, or snipers, or pistols because chances are low with those if you can't aim and most have low ammo reserves) quickly find a place to hide for as long as possible without being seen. Try being in buildings or somewhere not predictable.
- In the final 10, the evac ship should be extremely close to you, if it's right outside your door, try to relocate to an area where it's unlikely for a shadow to find you.
- Wait out the timer for when it says the ship will be leaving
- Quickly run out and go as far as you can without phasing or using your portal
- When you get within reasonable distance or you don't feel safe, portal and try to go as long as possible without phasing. This is because if you fall short with the portal, the phase could save you, and also you wouldn't phase too early where a shadow would be able to land a hit.
- Hopefully you made it into the evac ship and I recommend having at least blue body armor, so you're not a one hit incase you need to slide.
- Soloing as a Wraith is difficult when the ship is in Water Treatment, Skulltown, Airbase, Runoff, Slums, The "diving board" near Repulsor, Altillery, the settlement between Airbase and Bunker, east of Bunker and Relay if you don't know where to hide. I would tell you the best place on Altillery, and a few of the other places, however the more people know, the less useful it becomes.
Winning With Randoms
*Okay so many people think teaming is cheating, sure you get an upper hand but your more visible to shadows and it's kinda hard not to hit the person you're trying not to hit. Besides you'll end up on the same team... maybe.. along with other things such as you will have to run for the ship at some point or from the ring.*
- Best to be a Wraith, because I haven't seen too many friendly Wraiths
- Prediction the evac location
- Land close to where it would be
- Loot up and get situated
- Try to find a Wattson, if the evac is going to be east of Bunker, Water Treatment, or some place with an obvious location close to where a Wattson could set up good fences, you're golden. *Yes, this depends on the Wattson knowing how to actually fence without getting everyone killed*
- Set up defences in a good area close to where you think the evac ship would be and give the Wattson an ultimate accelerant to help with her fencing.
- Fence up as best as possible and defend your location
- In final 10, wait it out for the evac ship to arrive and then quickly run, portal, phase onto the ship (if close) or go as far as you can and then portal. I'm going to be honest.... 9/10 the other person isn't going to make it and frankly when a Wattson does the "tea bagging", I use the fact they have fences to my advantage. Because having a Wattson random is much better than a Claustic or anyone else.
Legend Breakdown:
- Bloodhound: Do not use this character as tracking players and shadows is pointless, your scan gives you away, and shadows can and will out run your beast of the hunt. It's possible to still win as one, but for real, it's not the best way!
- Gibraltar: If you seriously pick this guy, you clearly don't understand the game mode. You're a h u g e target who's abilities can't even protect you very well and shadows can pretty much punch through your gun shield. While you take more hits to kill, it's not a good trade-off.
- Lifeline: You be tempted to use her, however her abilities are for healing and support... that's not going to cut it when you're constantly being landed on or find yourself with no need for heals or gear
- Pathfinder: A good choice to be for high ground areas, however there's many times where you can't zip out of the situation, so camp where you can and set your zipline to go through the ship like how all the other Pathfinders are doing it.
- Octane: You can be out runned, and while your jumppad is good when you're close to the ship, you can easily miss your mark
- Wraith: Best for this mode because you can easily get onto the ship without issues if you time everything right
- Bangalore: Her abilities aren't suited for this mode and are for the most part pointless, you take more damage as well, so for real.. don't..
- Claustic: While he's good at defending his area, it becomes hard to work with another player because of the gas isn't good and can break Wattson fences for some reason. I recommend killing all Claustics you see because they're a great liability to you and your team if you happen to have someone who's willing to not kill you.
- Mirage: He's good when you're alone because I've seen many Mirages send out a clone and get people to attack it and then deploys the ultimate to get onto the ship, however most of the time it wears off before the ship, so with him.. everything is based on luck.
- Wattson: Extremely useful when camping in a building because if you fence in the right places, no one can break them or will have a really hard time getting to you. Downside is that they would most likely camp and wait for you to run to the evac ship, so hopefully you have a Wraith at some point to help you.
- Crypto: I'm going to admit... winning as him is indeed possible alone or with others, and even with or without a drone. I've escaped alone in Airbase and I've seen players use him to check for shadows around their hideout (when with a Wattson) or over the evac ship so the final other 9 can see shadows. However, being a Crypto isn't exactly ideal as most of the time his abilities go unused and his ultimate doesn't really hurt shadows.
Hopefully that will net you enough wins to compete the challenge and yes, a lot is luck because not everyone is friendly, not every evac ship would be in an ideal place, and stuff like that.
Additional Notes:
- Try to avoid as much conflict as possible as killing even one person or shadow can cause many more to show up and throw you off course to where you die or miss the evac ship
- Try to make friends with randoms, because if you don't need Legend kills, it's best to have their help instead of getting rid of them. Besides, if all 10 survivors are together, it makes getting away much easier because there be more people for shadows to hit and a greater chance it's not you.
- Get blue or better armor
- Kill Claustics, seriously.. out of everyone their abilities are not helpful when there's fences and when it can hurt you too
- Watch the skies when you can, and keep an ear out for landing shadows
- Expect the unexpected. Can't tell you how many times I was able to catch a Wattson or another Legend off guard because they didn't protect their area or hid carefully enough. (A rookie mistake is putting up 1 or 2 layers of feces on every entrance, and even doing it a large area because shadows can easily rush you. If you're going to fence, at least be in a small room in which you can zigzag fences because it looks a lot more intimidating and more of a 1-2-3 to break into.)
- Anyways be predicting the evac point and running for it when it arrives, not when it's on its way. I arrived there too early before and ended up getting slashed.
- Don't be that guy that creates a route to the evac ship before it arrives. You're telling the shadows where to camp and giving them a chance to get you and your team.
Again, hope this helps, and to the teaming part, Respawn hasn't said or done anything to help prevent it so it's unclear if they're even allowing it.

Well if that's the case they shouldn't put rewards attached to an event mode that's not meant to be taken seriously cause these are event items witch means we will likely only get them once so I like completing collections so this mode for me is fun but if it's impossible to get challenges done then don't like skins and badges behind them just have them give boosted exp or something. If your gonna lock cosmetics behind the challenges then at least make it where even normal players can complete the challenges.

This mode is trash from start to finish. Feels like playing a 400 to 900 battlefield game, if dead. All shadows leave, because there is nothing in it for them. Respawn needs to do some quick firing in the company or else.

I actually enjoy this mode a lot, being a shadow is so cool, unlocks a totally different kind of gameplay,
plus you can potentially last longer even if you get killed.
Playing itself is more fun than just winning in Apex.
As other people said if you don't like this mode just play standard: easy peasy!
