I think it would be an unreasonable nerf to destroy Crypto's drone while in storm because of the importance of the drone being able to collect his teammates banners.
It would be reasonable enough for the drone's highlighted color to be changed to red or any color other than orange (of course) when the drone enters the storm. I think that this would be a reasonable change because of the reasons below.
It can sit in one spot, not inconspicuous in any way and an enemy team can't see it (or its very difficult) because of the orange highlight.
Hypothetically, say the highlight changes to red once it hits the storm. This would make it much easier for the enemy team to spot. The enemy team would still need to hold enough game sense to shoot it out of the air or stay in cover long enough to find and destroy it.
I think that this would be a reasonable change to Crypto's drone without stealing from his tactical ability.
@BarryBarker Thanks for taking the time to respond to each of us patiently, I'm glad to be able to discuss these things with someone who is equally interested.
I think I now fully understand your argument about the difficulty of destroying the drone in the storm, and your idea of a colour change while in the storm is very reasonable. But I'll try to make my point clearer about which side of the storm you are on.
If a crypto was somewhere inside the ring, and was using his drone purely to go and get teammates banners from the storm, and there was a team inside the ring who could see cryptos drone easier in the storm because it stood out with the changed highlight, they might either shoot it more easily which I understand is what you want aha, but that does make his banner ability more difficult every time. Or they might not have noticed the drone in the storm before, but are now more aware there is a possibly solo crypto somewhere nearby. I think there are a variety of times where a colour change in the storm would make it more difficult for the crypto player, but I can see that many of them are minor and dont affect the game as much as your issue with being unable to see a drone watching you in the storm.
As an occasional crypto player I'm just trying to find an alternative way to help this problem without somehow putting him at a disadvantage
